My husband and I have been at a constant battle about how to say syrup. It's now pretty funny, our daughter is 3 1/2 and we both try to get her on each others team on how to say it. I am from Connecticut and he is from Indiana, I say ceerup and he says surrup. So I want to know How do YOU say SYRUP????? While you are taking the poll have a look at some pancakes with syrup!!

While surrup is my preferance, I vote for pouring it warm over some of this huge amount of snow we are getting in NE Ohio.......no matter how you say it..... & enjoying a winter treat!

Ha ha. Lucky for you, one of my favorite websites is Merriam because you can click on the little red horn icon and the program will pronounce words for you :) Yep, I'm a nerd.

This is totally hilarious!!! I say suurup! I'm From California!
I am from Austria, Europe and we say 'ceerup'.
I was born in Massachusetts, lived all over New england, as well as a few places in the Mid-Atlantic, and several cities in Texas... currently in NYC... and I say it between you and your husband's pronunciation... rhyming with "Stirrup" where the "syr" part sounds like "Sir" (as in mister)
I live in NJ now but grew up in FL...I say surrup
